Gothard applauds Sarah Palin resignation
Responding to the news that presidential hopeful Sarah Palin has decided to resign, IBLP founder and president Bill Gothard issued the following statement:
I applaud Mrs. Palin's decision to step down as governor of Alaska. I believe the media criticism Mrs. Palin has received is a God-given irritation to lead her to His will. It's time for her to fulfill her God-given role as a dedicated mother and a Proverbs 31 wife. By submitting to her husband Todd, Sarah is providing a godly examples for thousands of other wives who struggle with the temptation to pursue their own selfish careers.

Sick and wrong. And utterly beleivable that that statement was issued.
Um, don't forget -- it's satire.
Which is why I said it's "utterly believable". Instead of, "oh my, I can't believe he said that".
funny and right on . . . but I'd be careful about saying "Bill Gothard issued this statement" when he did not. It's unethical and asking for someone to sue the pants off you.
Sue the pants off of who, the anonymous poster known as X-er? If someone were truly a person that would "sue" X-er, they probably wouldn't be on this site. :)
win. glad to see some updates here.
i was having to resort to reading my verity student handbook when i needed a good laugh.
you have the lingo down pat...
i thought he really said that. i was ready to spit bricks.
Crap, forgot it was satire for a moment and scrambled off in search of the official statement. Got close to being too believable for satire here, ha!
