New IBLP Courtship Service
Recognizing the popularity of eHarmony.com, the Advanced Training Institute has launched an online courtship service for IBLP members. The program, eCourtship.com, will provide a Character Test and several dozens of questions such as "What is your spiritual gift?" and "What is your favorite IBLP ministry location?" and "How many siblings do you have?" A computer will analyze the results and provide an eCourtship compatibility match.

And to help ensure that the young men have no problems with their eyes there will, of course, be no pictures of the young ladies.
Also, to help ensure that everyone is as spiritual as Bill no matches will be found to help them stay single as Paul wanted us to.
Just checked and this site is for sale, 7,500 bucks.
Please note that this site is not for sale. Mr. Gothard has indicated that the Lord led him to purchase this domain two weeks ago, but apparently there were problems with his credit card payment. Please refrain from taking advantage of this situation while his billing issue is being resolved. Thank you.
In addition, I understand there was a minor delay since it was necessary for Bill to spend quite a few hours on the phone with his accountability partner. In the meantime, Godaddy.com refuses to apologize for defrauding Mr. Gothard and for creating virtual soul ties.
What on earth are ungodly soul ties?
If you have any kind of attraction or perhaps even just a mildly positive feeling about someone of the opposite sex you have developed an unhealthy soul tie with that person. This means that your soul has been bound to their soul.
No-one is immune from this. Apparently even Mr. Gothard was enticed into bondage when he logged onto Godaddy.com to register the eCourtship.com domain name. I can only guess that he must have inadvertently looked upon the photograph of the young woman in their advertisement.
Please follow Mr. Gothard's six-step program without delay in order to break the bondage created by this destructive soul tie.

I'm ex-ATI, and I don't have a lot of hard feelings toward Gothard or his ministry, although I wouldn't go back. I appreciate the light-heartedness of this blog and the absence of vitriol (generally).
You're striking the right chords here, and I appreciate it. We shouldn't viciously attack this man, who after all is a Christian doing (at least to some extent) the Lord's work, but I think it can be appropriate to laugh about it.
In fact, it is possible to have an unhealthy soul tie to a person of the same gender, if you have a close friendship and trust one another, when those in authority feel you should not.
That is precisely why I always ask my authorities before making new friends.
Who do your authorities ask before THEY make new friends?
They ask THEIR authorities. This is how God has established the chain of command. In order to help us fully understand this principle, Mr. Gothard has provided an enlightening illustration which pictures the husband as the hammer, the wife as the chisel and the children as the uncut gems. This demonstrates how the husband is to be the hammer that beats on the chisel (wife) who then in turn chips away at the gems (children). The same principle holds true for non-family chains of command. So my authorities receive direction from their authorities, who receive direction from their authorities, etc. This cycle continues all the way up to Mr. Gothard himself who of course is accountable to no-one (except perhaps God). I hope that this illustration was helpful.
please tell me that reminder of the hammer "illustration" was in jest. i'll never forget the day i was walking around and realized i didn't think of myself only as the trickle-down recipient of someone else's decisions and "authority". praises be for autonomy and personal value.
Have you ever noticed those who make the rules (or the principles) don't have to abide by them.
I just read the obituary of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi on the Economist's web site. You might want to read it; every time you come across the name Maharishi, substitute the name Bill. I guess there is nothing new under the sun.
Next time you think of authority as a hammer think of your self as an anvil[Subtle Prisoner TV Series Reference]
So Gothard's analogy essentially means the husband is to beat his wife who in turn takes it out on the kids?
Did anyone else breath a sigh of relief when Huckabee conceded? You can tell an ex-ATIer by the way they shudder at the word "principals"
Yes, definitely. Or principles, even.
sigh of relief? more like danced around the room. when huckabee conceded, it reminded me of elections past, listening to my parents pray that god would "confound the minds" of voters... in essence, that people would become holy robots to vote in their "righteous" candidate. much like being herded onto a UFO for a little while.

(and yes, my parents had a Huckabee sign in their yard. i'm still not speaking to them.)
The best thing about those IBLP seminars were the random hook up potentials...
Thanks for the humor...I needed. And seriously don't vote for Obama...dear God I pay enough in taxes already to have a socialist take more. There are no good candidates this year...
Ah, I totally needed that good laugh!!

:) This is funny. Makes me think of the Pope. - In recent times I've become acquainted with a pro-life Catholic, and it's very interesting to see the utter devotion to the Pope and what he dictates, and then compare that to ATI / IBLP.
This dating website thing is so creepy. God is allowing Mr. Gothard is just building his kingdom bigger so that when it falls, there'll be a bigger crash and more exposure. When I confronted Mr. G on some moral issues one time, he was aghast and said that no one had ever talked to him like that before! You're right, he has NO accountability...And I have proof of that.
Oh Wow, laughed my head off!! This site will also probably prevent any girls from "defrauding" the men... Has anyone ever looked that word up? Really, defrauding??!!! Who started that one, having actually looked up the word in the dictionary I would really like to know where that came from in ATI terminology!! Doesn't make the slightest bit of sense!
I defrauded a man once...now I'm married to him, quite happily actually. =) Give it go, ladies.
Wow I remember when the internet was EVIL it haz pornz (the truth about bullshit billy gothard). Then I assume he found you can rape retarded parents for more money online.
