Hi, I'm X-er, and I have high standards
SOMEWHERE, USA - Inspired by other brave souls who have resisted assaults on the truth, and disturbed by the lack of godliness exhibited by some readers, X-ATI Guy announced that it is time to follow the fine example of wiser souls and turn off the comments on his site. "Strangling dissent is an important aspect to communicating the truth," he said, "and if people cannot agree with our credo, then they should resign themselves to an extra-crispy eternity."

X-er expressed concern over the errant doctrines of freedom and grace that are leading many astray. "I'm grieved," he said. "We never expected this site to become a sounding board for the critics of IBLP. Who would have thought?"

X-er has re-dedicated his life to writing "pure" satire.

Well.. Since "brave soul" has removed his posts totally it is up to the brave souls ingaged in the battle against his 'truth' to show the world what was said. http://philosoph.us/misc/chukp/ will allow you to see the posts where the major contraversy blew up. March 21st's post is missing (I believe) a few comments but that will be hopefully rectified within the next week as cache's and saved pages are compaired to make sure that as little as possible is missed.

LOL definatly NOT because of me.
It was several people who objected to his stance on several topics. Check the link to see what everyone one said that helped in the final censorship of his site.

ROFL. Hear, Hear!

Here is one reader who basks in the grace and freedom our God has given us to enjoy...and thanks Him for it. Not that, by any means, I deserve it, but the amazing thing is that even though I could never deserve His love, mercy, grace, freedom, or forgiveness, He offers it to me anyway.

Long live "pure" satire. I much rather prefer it than the alternative... Thanks X-er.

Anon^^. While you might be right. It might be best to word that a little less... provocatively. Part of the reason (I think) so many people had a problem with what ChukP said was that it was in such a bold-faced "i'm right you are wrong" manner and his (and his father's) inability to back down when faced with some basic Scripture. If ChukP had been at least open to discusison and hadn't started attempting to identify by name some of the people posting comments then I don't think he would have had the outpouring of citizism.

As it stands now, his site is down either by his own hand or his daddy's. But, it's not a reason to rejoice. He's cut himself off from people willing and able to talk about the problems with ATI so that he might be able to see that, while we don't know the exact answer, we are pretty sure that ATI isn't.. And why we think that way.

Here's hoping he'll open it back up and be willing to listen to our, seemingly logical, reasons to dislike IBLP.

Seab,
The damage is done. (in a good way) I dont think Chuck is likely to forget what he learned on X-ers blog.
Thank God. Hopefully over time, he will find similar truths for himself.
Fingers crossed, Annie

I got this posted to my Blogger blog from a non-Christian friend. She has a very interesting view of the situation:

"I, honestly have trouble taking this situation objectively. In my experience, Christians have, for actually, all that I have met, not really been christians. Which is why when a person says they're Christian, they're treading dangerous ground, because they have had such bad rep. from the past. Your beliefs take no one else's into account, so can you really expect this chap who is disregarding your way of life, to take you into fair account?

I would say forget him, and be your own person."

Hmm. Fascinating.

In other news, the Philosoph.us copy of ChukP's posts are now mostly complete. We are missing a couple of the comments to one of the posts (March 21th, 11:48), but other than that everything is as it was before he began deleting comments.

I must say that I did not expect him to turn and run away totally. I DID expect him to keep deleting posts, but my suspisions align with Seabhag in that his dad probably told him that the evil people would never leave him alone, so he'd be best off shutting it down.
I find it interesting that he didn't simply ban users such as Seabhag or me (when I was the one giving him the most grief) or any of the others who disagreed with him.

On the contrary, Christianity does take other people's beliefs into account. Evangelicals, especially, pride themselves on relating to other cultures and religions because of their expansive focus on the Great Commission. Their missionaries constantly try to find the "common ground" to make the Gospel relevant to that culture. The judgmental attitude arises out of a key misconception of the whole point of Christianity; that its all about morality. These people seek morality as an end in itself, as if they can achieve perfection by their own moral efforts. Pride has never been an anamoly among us humans, Christian or non-Christian. A non-Christian can be just as judgemental or worse. As for morality, Christianity teaches actually the exact opposite: IT CAN'T BE DONE! Christ has done it for us. That's the whole point.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. (Phi 4:8)

I guess my post was too controversial to leave up so it was deleted. Fair game, it's not my Blog. I'll be less controversial next time. Keep up the good work X-er.

"post"? I think you mean "spam". That was three (four? I can't remember) repeats of the exact same thing. It doesn't matter what it was, that's not controversial - that's just plain rude. You go to any forum or chatroom in the entire world and they will treat you in exactly the same way.

I think I detect a spirit similar to someone I once knew. You are accusing X-er of hiding anonymously behind a pseudonym. Like most non-internet users, you to equate "identity" with given names. You can't recognise that a Pseudonym can be just as recognisable and trackable as a "true"nym.

Nearly every consistent poster here leaves some kind of name, merely out of courtesy to others. As I said before, you falsely accuse X-er of doing what you are doing now: Hiding behind a wall of anonymity while hurling darts of antagonism with nor real constructive purpose.

Definitely the act of a true seeker after God.

I find ChukP ridiculous and hopelessly bigoted, but don't y'all think you're making too big a deal about him? He sounds pretty much like a Proverbial fool with lots of [misquoted] Scripture to comfort him... plus his ATI ties, of course. I'm sure all this hype about archiving his Xanga posts is only serving to make him more of a martyr within the enlightened circles. He doesn't need more attention. I'm sure his family is lavishing him with enough already. We know what we think, and we know what he thinks, and from his comments he doesn't sound wise enough to comprehend that we might have some good points. So perhaps dropping this issue might be the fastest way of resolving this. Obviously they can't communicate with the "heathen," let's just give up this argument.

I don't know. I am finding this really entertaining. I say, let chuk become the martyr he so wants to be. Let him wallow in his persecution. I mean its the least courtesy that can be extended to him; to afford him the rewards that Matt. 5 promises to those who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness.

Semi.. whoa..bro I wasn't trying to start some hate war hear. Harsh words don't do alot of good for me. I was just commenting on how my post got deleted, not why it did. I'll let X-er repsond on why it was, not some outside source. I don't have anything agaist posting my name nor my identity on a Blog, I just don't have Blogger account.

Peace and Love,

Patrick. Knowing Sem it wasn't meant as a direct attack against you.. However, long time vets of the 'net have extreme distaste for spam. In this post and in the previous one there were four posts that were duplicates. Only needed one max per post if you really felt like saying the exact same thing. Don't get too upset, and please remember the unwritten rules of the net. (Don't Spam, Don't post tru'nyms w/o permission, Don't troll, don't introduce Nazi's into a forum thread -- google that one. its almost funny--) Otherwise, it's all cool, I've not yet seen X-er delete a post without a really good reason (like ever that I can remember).

Seab, thanks for explaining this matter in a rational and non-flaming way, not to many people have that tact anymore these days. I've been on the Net probably longer than most people posting here, when "Blogs" were BBS listings and the Internet was Gopher text, so I'm pretty confidant of my abilities to navigate and exercise my freedom. The one thing that chaps my A** is when people somehow take on god like figures and decide to take other people's discussions into their own hands. I guess we just have a difference of opinion on what "spam" is and I believe I can say pretty much whatever I want even if it might align with 100 other people. That's the beauty of the net... but hey posting back and forth like this, getting into a flame match is somewhat juvenile so I’ll stop and get back to life, which DOES NOT happen on the Internet

Patrick, my apologies. From your tone, I had assumed you were ChukP. I should know by now to never assume anything, especially online.

I'm not going to argue with you. In fact, I'm going to cause myself major pain and agony and not even talk about this anymore, because I fail to see how it could be fruitful in any way.
