Silence the rebels!
Dear Mr. Ken Pierpont,
I am writing to commend your brave decision to follow your son's example and delete the comments of those who disagree with you on your blog. As director of the Character Inn, you are much too busy to engage in endless debate with ungodly critics; better to silence them all together.
If our time in ATI has taught us nothing else, it has taught us the danger of allowing worldly philosophies to enter our homes through television, radio and sensual music. Sadly, many reprobate Christians these days fail to draw the line at blog comments. Obviously, you understand that the only way to maintain spiritual purity is remove all errant doctrines from your blog, while leaving the comments that appropriately stroke your ego.
It may be time to police the discussion forums on the Crossings; no doubt those critics of IBLP are publishing their folly there as well. You may also want to ban the use of IM in your facility. I fear that the residents of the Character Inn may be reporting this saga to their family members and secret lovers.
May I suggest another effective method of throttling debate: I believe Xanga has developed technology that allows you to turn off your comment feature. True, people will no longer be able to leave their eProps affirming your wisdom and insight, but as we know it is never right to tolerate a little evil in order to enjoy good.
Sincerely,
X-ATI Guy

Aye.. Mr. P went on a "nuking" rampage. However, I think I've got most of the comments saved. If someone wants just pop me an e-mail.

unbelievable.
I'm wondering how I managed to miss that entire deal... just lucky, I guess...
*sigh*
will it never end!?!?
and all I did was post a link to Chuk's original blog posts.

hahaha. and he did it again. this is going to be like a merry-go-round...

and again...this is so juvenile. ATI breeds such superficial superiority.

I'm thinking about shipping a whole bunch of pot over there disguised as parsley or sage or something....because they all just need to relaaaaaax. Mellow out, Pierpont & Sons. Whatever it is, whatever your agenda, I can tell you right now it sure isn't worth it. You're offending more than blessing. When calling scoreboard on the "works" in a Christian's life...that can't be good.
Jane Doe.
I think Ken Pieront is desirous to be Mr. Gothard’s replacement.
Nah, he's lobbying for Chuk to take over.
I remember at Indy when a man told me that he felth that if his son was in the right spot at the right time, he take up Mr. Gothard's mantle.
Mr. G lives too long for most of these wannabe's though.
Besides, every boy eventually grows up to realize that it would suck to be Mr. Gothard! Sitting around in an office all day every day with no live of your own telling everyone how to run their lives?
Sounds kind of cool at first, but really I think it must be dreadful.
Can someone start a discussion thread over on the Crossings? It would be an interesting place to hash this out and Pierpont can't delete THOSE comments......
ALL HAIL THE KING! I was of the opinion that sir CHUCK "UP" was on the top of the food chain, I was grossly mistaken, his father still holds the record for the most steer manure accumulated during a blog.
Start a thread on Crossings? The ChukP incident was already over there, and people whined about why this was a relevant issue.
Of course, it might have been the way the issue was framed. I DO think it would be interesting to put it over there, but with the heavy moderation and the fact that only a select few read Areopolis or whatever the heck their "intelligent discussion" forum is called means that the issue won't get the press it needs.
However, I can't come up with a better idea, other than to personally tell my friends at HQ about it. Either way, my reputation is already on the slide there, so even on Crossings I might not be listened to.
I am posting here a comment that I made on Mr. Peirpont's blog for the simple fact that it will soon be deleted and lost forever. However here it is safe and can be read freely.
"I have not followed the whole ordeal completely, but from what I have read on your son's blog, X-ati guy's blog, and yours, that its not a disscussion about who is Holier(not that that should ever be the question) Its more about personal opinion, you think that X ati guy is being disrespectful to the IBLP organization. I could say the same about your thoughts on the planned parenthood organization (you obviously don't respect what they are trying to do) IBLP is simply an organization to help home educators, add spiritual growth, and ministry opportunities, It is not something to be followed unchecked. The people involved in said organization are human and imperfect, therefore things said and rules made must be evaluated through personal conviction and Biblical standards. I believe that God has given everyone certain rules that should be followed without question, however there does exsist certain debatable issues that in the long run, do not determine your place in the Kingdom. God gives people different convictions, and for some human to tell another human that because they don't have the same convictions they are not Christians is a rash and proud statement. Only God knows the heart of a man, who are you to say who will enter the Kingdom of God?"
Christine, the answer to your last question is quite easy. He is the head of the Flint TC. Since he stands just below the Oracle of God, of COURSE he is able to determine who enters the Gates of Pearl. Since Bill took over for St. Peter he's been delegating the job of who to let into Heaven to the heads of the TC's.. Didn't you know that?

Anonymous(s), I know you're ticked off, but please, if you can't show love for your brother, at least be civil.
I was rather disheartened to see talk of someone aspiring to assume Mr. G's position. I had hopes that ATI would just fizzle out after he died.

I'm amazed at the people IBLP hires. Those in leadership with the acception of a few have no back bone. Here is a comment that I left for Mr. Pierpont but it was deleted...
I'm amazed Sir at how you continue to delete comments of anyone who disagrees with you or your son. You start something (arguments) that you're not willing to finish nor have you stood behind what you believe in (IBLP Principles). I guess you're just following the typical IBLP way of doing things... Start something and never finishing it. That and applying the "principles" when it suits you best.
I pray God would do a great work in your family's life...
The Lord Bless you...
After it was deleted I followed up with this which was also deleted...
Mr. Pierpont, I see that you've already gone and deleted my comment. As the old saying goes Sir "You're a very sad man, and you have my pity."
another comment left for Chuk (its on here just to ensure that he gets it, he obviously frequants this site)
Chuk, I think your heart is on the way to the right place, but be careful the way you word things...sometimes being so blunt with people can hurt them in a way that God did not intend. Sometimes what you say comes out very proud, what you say makes other people feel stupid and ignorant. And don't compare your opinion with the Bible, I believe the Bible but what the Bible says is not what your saying. when you say " I am talking to people who are supposedly Christians" that is a very proud statement, you don't know the heart ( you shall know them by their fruits) Also, to delete comments from people who disagree with the material on your site is to admit the dislike of the possibility that you are wrong.
You know what... I think this whole deal is just what Mr. P and his boy want.. more attention, more hype, more disagreement. Why else would you start a self-serving blog, to gain attention and get your ego stroked. As I've seen in many personal disagreements that end up to be a waste of time, if no one really cared, the issue would die out quickly. Why not just ignore the P. family, not give reconition to a low level servant of Bill and see how far it goes. People who crave attention, (which is a large ammount of ATI kids and their parents) will die on the vine when people ignore them and don't get involved in their petty arguments...
Or maybe the sake of the argument is not so much for the Pierponts as it is for the droves of people watching...their responses (or lack thereof) speak volumes to people on both sides of the argument.
I have often found that those who take the most away from arguments are not those involved, but rather those standing silent on the sidelines...
~Semper
No, I don't think he's doing it just for attention. I think he never expected it to cause such a flap - probably initially posted as a pep talk for his son and others who frequent the site - and now is just thinking "Answer not a fool according to his folly." I'm sure if he had any idea how this all would go, he wouldn't have started the topic. He is probably very sincerely grieved over what he perceives as a bunch of mocking fools possbily leading others astray.
Wow, this subject hit a nerve. Look at all those comments!
Yeah pretty sad he has to be Gothards internet police. Although he might enjoy it and not do it to help G out. Sure beats workin doesnt it? I was actually on with Verity a while back and we kind of had a joke that if was an afternoon, Mr. P would definately not be around. Doubt thats changed much.
I heard they have a guy at the inn who does all the work so Mr P can afford to goof off and be more of a "people person." By that he must mean reading peoples blogs and stuff. He did say to one of my friends that recently left the inn that these people will answer to God for what their writing. Yeah, answer to God, not you. Get to work and quit worrying about everything people are saying about you. If you are that worried about what other people think you shouldnt be directing a TC and you only end up making more enemies then you had before by over-reacting to everything.
The biggest problem to me is how he was always talking about how his kids were like the Godliest kids around and that they just had a great heart for Jesus and all this
stuff. I dont know about you guys but where I come from, its kind of dumb to always be "hyping" up your kids because if they are as good as you say, their actions will speak
for themselves. If they arent as great as you say, you just end up looking like an idiot. I really feel kinda bad for the Pierpont kids because there is an unfair amount of
pressure put on you when your own dad is always talking about how wonderful you are. I guess it all goes back to the fact that IBLP is appearance based.
Dang, maybe I should start my own blog instead of venting on this one. ;-)
Peace everyone, Im out...

ROTFL - I saw the comment tracker was at 37 and I said "HOLY COW!" but then I saw it was just someone mega-ultra overposting. :)
Regardless, I am impressed by how many people are interested in the issue. I wasn't sure what other people would think as the size of the group of those appraised to the situation increased, and I must say that I am pleased.
Perhaps I shouldn't take such a proprietary view towards it, because it was some friends of mine who showed ChukP's blog to me, and Seabhag had put his two cents in several days before I got into it all.
As for the second round, X-er told me about it (I don't know if he got it from anyone else or found it himself), and my post was again late into the fray.
However, I still wish there was something more pro-active we could do to get this issue out.
An idea some of my friends have come up with is to put up a site that catalogues real, factual instances of IBLP's little issues, like the ChukP thing.
Or like the Voller incident. We know people who were there during the entire thing, they could put down what actually happened and who did it - not out of a desire to hurt the parties involved, but simply to uncover the shame of IBLP.
Would anyone else be interested in this? Drop me an email or IM me - you can find my IM names on my Xanga blog.
Well. We are getting down to the nubs. Ken just disabled comments to the March 30th post.
But, as I outlined on my Xanga, I think we should continue in this war of neverending posts. Sign his guestbook.
Come on people! The guy gets comments like this : "We thank God for you...cuz you're a guy of discernement too!!! Thank you for everything that you do!!!!"
Maybe it won't do anything, but you never know if you don't try. I know a lot of IBLP people can't understand the mindset of those who would attack IBLP. Here is our chance to speak up. Maybe something will come of it.
Ummm...not sure why my post just showed up like 10 times...I only hit publish once...maybe my browser barfed...sorry everybody.
"Ummm...not sure why my post just showed up like 10 times...I only hit publish once...maybe my browser barfed...sorry everybody."
No worries. I gave Pierpont a call and he helped me delete your duplicate comments.
ROFL. X-er.. Your last comment there had me rolling on the floor. Guess you just gotta ask the advice of someone more experienced huh?
Seabhag
I'm probably closer to Mr.P theologically than to most of you, but he has alienated even me through his attitude and methodology. I would like to appologize on his behalf, since he seems unwilling to own up to his obvious pride. Please don't think that conservative people are all like this.
During my 3+ years on staff, I did see people like him, probably around 15- 20 percent. Maybe less.
My point is this. Even most ATI staff would be appalled by the way that he handled this.
Having worked on staff myself for about 3 years at HQ I would put the estimate at closer to 30-40%.. However, the people who didn't agree with it were usually in no place to actually help effect any change. The population who would agree with Mr. P's stance tended to be those whom it would most benifit. That is the persons in positions of power and "responsibility".
Yeah, in my 6 years with the Institue I have never seen anyone handle things so poorly as Mr. P. I know for a fact that he monitors everyones blogs and web pages that are on staff there at the inn or worked for him previously. He really enjoys getting people in trouble too, thats always been a problem of his. ESPECIALLY if they dont like his kids. You should hear some stories that hes done to people that said something mean about Holly. Whoa momma...
Yeah, if you dont like his kids there is something "spiritually wrong" with you. ;-)
With all the buzz of Chuck and Pierpont... X-er what do you think of having their names added to the sensored list?
Im wondering if the more we talk about the senior and junior Mr.P's, if we make them all the more the marytr?
Shame.
That title should only be used for people we truely have respect for. For people who actually give up the genuinely important things in this life.
Not a title for someone who walks around with that nasty little brown 'something' on their nose in hopes to attain status.
Have a martoonie and toast to the dual Mr.P's.
Have a toast to grace!
ps. a martoonie is a variation of a martini for those who are wondering and they are outstandingly tasty.
With all this Pierpont & Sons drama, give me a couple LI iced teas instead...
*shakes head*
-Jane Doe.
just got to this post... tried to post a comment but he won't allow comments. darn. here's what i wrote:
too bad your "close your eyes and imagine jesus saying....." is just that...imagining. if you really want to take the bible literally, dear boy, take literally the verse which reads, "do not add anything or take away from these words."
and since you feel free to dissect the motives and beliefs of others, let me just tell you my impressions of your photo. you do not have bright enough eyes. your stance can be interpreted as rebellious and unapproachable. you do not have a servant smile but a sneering look and from that i take it upon myself to sense a spirit of unfriendliness and petulance. had i the power, because, as your elder and due to my past and longer experience within your circle of influence, i could quite possibly deem myself an authority figure and demand that you "fix" these "flaws" in your character. but i digress. you are a child, and that is the greatest opportunity one has to learn how great life is. well, until you somehow find your way out of the maze and learn to smell the roses, hat's off for trying to tell some people who know better exactly what they need to be as developed, godly, and successful as you have been.
